Top 10 College Headlines in 2011

After all the talk of law school remorse and suspicions about skewed statistics, it turns out that at least some of those suspicions about data were correct. This fall, the law school at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, issued a correction saying that the class of 2014 had a median LSAT score of 163, not 168; and an undergrad GPA of 3.7, not 3.81.

They're just numbers on a page, so they don't change how difficult it actually was to get into the school, but the decreased "competitiveness" of those admissions stats makes an enormous difference to the law school's national rankings - and it impacts student expectations. They'll be graduating from a school that's not ranked 21st in the nation. How that will impact their employment prospects remains to be seen. Perhaps it won't matter at all.
