- It's likely that your 21 year old is still a very poor college students (with poorer parents). But before he or she graduates and moves on, I recommend taking a trip of some kind together. Even just a nice weekend getaway. It'll mark that period where you become less their warden and more their "friend" (albeit a friend with some extra power I hope).
